The Vincennes Community School Board met this morning at the administrative center on Quail Run Road.
At the meeting, several personnel matters were announced.
New hires include Rachel Lambert for Franklin Life Skills, Madelyn Figueroa as the choir teacher for Lincoln and Clark, Shelby Marchino as a K-2 Resource Teacher at Vigo, Keyanna Gehlhousen as a Life Skills Paraprofessional at Lincoln, Tamerra English as an Instructional Assistant at Riley, Cora Hatten as a Title 1 Instructional Assistant at Tecumseh-Harrison, David LaCour as a School Resource Officer, and Kaeleigh Walker as Second Steps Instructor for Tecumseh-Harrison and Franklin.
Staff Transfers include Shelby McCormick from teacher at Clark to Dean of Students at Clark, Fatima Altstadt from Spanish Teacher at Clark to Spanish Teacher at Lincoln, Gage Cooper from Life Skills aide at Vigo to Life Skills Teacher at Vigo, Jamie Flemming teaching 5th Grade to now teaching 3rd Grade at Vigo, Dawn Akes from teaching 2nd to now teaching 1st Grade at Vigo, Ashley Koby from Life Skills Paraprofessional at Vigo to Life Skills Paraprofessional at Franklin, Antwan Johnson from Instructional Assistant at Washington Learning Academy to Classroom Aide at Lincoln, and Jenna Cummins from Functional Skills Aide at Lincoln to Functional Skills Aide at Franklin.
In Resignations and Retirements, Scott Hurst, LHS Social Studies, Ashley Watts, PE at Riley and Franklin, Andrea Graves, Lincoln Spanish, and Laura Arial, Vigo Instructional Assistant all have departed.
Updates have been made to the Clark Middle School Extracurricular Activities Pricing for the year. Adults will now pay $5 to get into sporting events at the middle school while Students that are high school age and under get in free. A family pass is how $100, up from $60 previously and a Single Pass is now $50, up previously from $30.
The VCSC Board approved the Knox County Special Education Cooperative Budget for the year. The total budget is $1.882 Million with Vincennes Community Schools responsible for $1.065 Million. Vincennes Community Schools are the lead district in the cooperative.
Bids came back for work to take place on the doors at Lincoln High School, the railings inside Alice Arena, and the facade of Washington Learning Academy. Wolfe Construction of Vincennes was the low bidder on the project at $906,210.
A pair of fundraisers were approved. Tecumseh-Harrison’s PTO fundraiser with Paragon Promotions will take place from August 10th-30th and the Lincoln Girls Cross Country Team will have a full the shoe fundraiser July 14th-31st  and a carwash at Memering Motorplex August 9th.
